John Muir Mini Cabin

The campground style mini cabins measure 10 x 12 feet (120 sq/ft) and are detached units featuring a queen bed on the lower level and another queen bed in the loft above. The loft, sized at 10 x 6 feet (60 sq/ft), can be reached by a six-foot ladder and is not suitable for guests with mobility challenges. Our lofts are designed exclusively for young individuals or nimble adults.

Every small cabin comes with an air conditioning unit, a space heater, a Smart TV, complimentary WIFI, and overhead reading lamps. We view them as a cost-effective and cozy option for your vacation in Kings Canyon & Sequoia National Parks. Save your money for the parks and spend extra time in nature!

The smart TV can access numerous free channels, but you are also encouraged to log in to your personal streaming accounts to enjoy your favorite on-demand shows or live TV.

Featuring a seasonal restaurant on the premises, guests have the option to enjoy a professionally cooked meal or utilize the communal kitchen equipped with essential appliances and cookware to prepare their own food. The restaurant's operating hours are subject to change based on the season.

The campground style mini cabins village is located at the base of the property and is enclosed by a white picket fence. Communal restrooms are located at the far end but not further than 75 feet from any unit. The bookable kitchen and laundry facility is next to the restroom.

Amenities Available When Booking our Mini Cabins:

The compact cabin units offer 180 square feet of sleeping space with comfortable beds. Each unit comes with amenities such as air conditioning, heating, electrical outlets, lighting, reliable WIFI, and a Smart TV. There is limited room for luggage, and no storage closets are provided. The units feature beds on the main floor and additional sleeping space in a loft accessible by a 7-foot ladder. It's worth noting that the loft is not accessible for those with mobility issues, and the units are best suited for children or agile young adults. These mini cabins are designed to fulfill basic needs at an affordable price compared to National Park Lodges or local vacation home rentals, which are typically two to three times more expensive than our rates.

The shared restroom and shower area feature individual stalls that can be locked for privacy. The space is enclosed to shield guests from direct sunlight and rain, but it is not temperature-controlled as it relies on natural ventilation. Hot water is available through an on-demand heater, requiring the faucets to run for about a minute to clear the cold water from the pipes. The facility includes a standard sink with ample counter space for grooming and handwashing. Two flushing toilet stalls with lockable doors offer convenience over traditional pit toilets, while four shower stalls include caddies for toiletries. Access to the entrance of the restroom is through a locked front door, with the code sent to you via email and text on the morning of your arrival.

The kitchen and laundry facilities are available for booking and are shared among guests. They are located in a secure unit with a lockable door, and access can be reserved online or at the reception. This area can be adjusted for temperature control. Similar to the bathrooms, these facilities are supplied with on demand hot water. In the kitchen, guests will find a standard sink, refrigerator with freezer, microwave, air fryer, electric grill, coffee maker, toaster, as well as cooking utensils, dishes, pots, and pans. Cleaning supplies for the kitchen are provided. Additionally, there is a standard washer and dryer for laundry needs. Detergent and dryer sheets can be purchased separately or brought by guests. Please be aware that there is a small additional fee for accessing the kitchen and laundry facilities, which is charged per day.

• The cabin unit does not have an internal restroom (a shared communal campground-style restroom is accessible near by).
